Questions

Questions a shop asks first

Cost, platforms, your data, and what happens if you stop paying.

The product

Is this hosted, or does it run here?

It runs on a PC in your shop. If the internet goes down, the shop keeps working.

What does it run on?

Windows, from one installer. Linux for the server if that is what you have. There is an Android app for the bench, on phones and tablets. iPhone, iPad and macOS are planned and not built yet.

What does it cost?

Not decided yet. Nothing is released, so any number here would be made up.

Can I try it?

Not yet. There is nothing worth handing out until the first release.

When is it out?

No date. Inventing one would be the first promise broken.

Your data

Can I get my data out?

Yes, and without asking us. Every report and the accounting export write CSV, and the database is a normal PostgreSQL database on your machine.

Can I bring what I already have in?

Customers, vehicles, parts and labor rates import from a spreadsheet, with a dry run first so you see what would happen.

Who else can see it?

Nobody. There is no cloud copy of your database and no analytics on how you use it. Your account with us knows what you bought and which server it is licensed to.

One exception, and it is a real one: shops in the early access program let us reach their data while the software is being built, so a request can be turned around in days. That is written down rather than assumed, it can be withdrawn at any time, and it ends when the program does.

Licensing

What happens if I stop paying?

You can finish the job on the bench, take the payment and send the invoice. You cannot start new work. Reading your data and backing it up are never blocked.

Can I move it to a new server?

Yes, and you do it yourself from your account page.

Can I run two servers?

No. One shop, one server, so you never end up with two sets of stock figures.
