Printing

Paper that matches what is on the pallet

The sheet that goes to the customer, the ticket that goes to the bench, the tag that hangs on the block.

What prints

Build sheets
The measured record of the build, on your letterhead, at full size.
Estimates, invoices and statements
With your own logo on them.
Shop tickets and engine tags
Something to hang on the engine, so the number is on the object and not just on a screen.
Intake tags
Printed at the counter, so the block is labeled from the moment it comes through the door.
Part and bin labels
With a barcode, on the label stock you actually buy.

What the customer keeps

The build sheet as it prints, on your letterhead.

A printed engine build sheet on shop letterhead with a QR code and barcode, showing the engine, the customer, 248 of 262 readings recorded with one outside tolerance, and the block, crankshaft and ring measurements with the tolerance each was measured against.
It prints the tolerance beside every number, so the sheet still means something in five years when nobody remembers what the blueprint said.

Two things that save an argument

Scan it and it opens
Every label and document carries a code. Scan one and you are looking at that part, bin, ticket or engine.
Email that keeps a record
Send a document and the attempt is logged, so "I sent it" is something you can check.
